Founded by artist Hung Hao-lun, ‘Taiwan Primary Colors’ upholds the philosophy of “using art to save the environment,” creating works with locally sourced natural pigments to practice “Using local materials to painting local theme” and environmental sustainability. The studio continuously explores land resource recycling, collecting Taiwanese mineral mud, plants, agricultural waste, and construction waste, transforming them into environmentally friendly pigments and everyday applications.
This exhibition, “A Diverse Cyclic Example of Introduced Leucaena leucocephala, Agricultural Waste, Construction Waste, and Local Natural Pigments,” transforms surplus resources from ecological management into pigments, handmade paper, plant dyes, bark fabrics, and artistic creations, showcasing the deep connection between land, art, and the circular economy in daily life.

The exhibition focuses on the recycling of materials often removed from production, such as Leucaena leucocephala and paper mulberry, into creative and everyday resources. It also showcases how natural minerals, soil, plants, agricultural waste, and construction residues are collected, ground, extracted, and formulated into environmentally friendly pigments. Ultimately, what is preserved is not just the materials, but also natural science, manufacturing techniques, historical heritage, local context, and reusable experiences. |
